Annie Ropar
Annie Ropar joined RBC Capital Markets in 2005 in the Finance group supporting the Capital Partners and Strategic Transactions portfolios. She is currently responsible for managing the Global Investment Banking Private Equity Fund portfolio in addition to select companies in RBC's direct investment portfolio.
Prior to joining RBC, Annie spent 7 years at CIT Group Inc. in various progressive roles and ultimately as SVP and Group CFO of what was then their Structured Finance Division. She began her career at Deloitte & Touche in Toronto.
Annie was recently appointed to the board of directors’ of WCM (Women in Capital Markets).
Annie is a CA, CMA and also holds a US CPA designation.
Louis
Guilbault
Dr. Louis A. Guilbault holds a doctorate in reproductive physiology from the University of Florida. His work as a research scientist at the Agriculture and Agri-food Canada Research Station in Lennoxville, Québec, and as adjunct professor at the reproductive biology research centre at Université Laval in Québec City, Québec, spanned more than 20 years. It should be noted that he also helped found the Centre. Dr. Guilbault has authored and co-authored over one hundred scientific publications and abstracts in the field of reproductive biotechnology. He has acted as a guest speaker at a number of scientific conferences and symposiums and for veterinarian and biopharmaceutical companies in Canada, the United States and in Europe. He has also sat on several project selection committees of provincial and national organizations.
In 1997, he completed an internship in technology transfer and development at the University-Industry Liaison Office of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. In 1999, he joined the Société générale de financement du Québec SGF). As Vice-President of Scientific Affairs and Investments, he was responsible for developing and supervising SGF’s investments in the Agbiotech (SGF Soquia inc., 1999 - 2005) and biopharmaceutical sectors (Life Science Group, 2005 – 2007). Dr. Guilbault is currently president of BIOptima Consulting Life Sciences Inc., a company he created in July 2007 to offer consulting and strategic planning services in the life science sector. Dr. Guilbault sits on the Board of Directors of BioQuébec.
Gaétan Lussier
Gaétan Lussier serves
as a Director or member ofanumber ofcorporate boards and not-for-profit
associations. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Lussier was President and Chief Executive
Officer of Culinar Inc., and was President of Weston Bakeries Quebec from 1988
to1994. In addition to his executive level experience in the private sector,
Mr. Lussier enjoyed a long and influentialcareer as a senior public servant
with both the Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec. Mr. Lussier
was appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the Government of Quebec in
1971. Mr. Lussier was Deputy Minister of Agriculture
Canada
and of Employment and
Immigration Canada, as well as President of the Unemployment Insurance
Commission. A recipient of the Order of
Canada
(1981), Mr. Lussier has received numerous other honours, including an honourary
doctorate in agricultural sciences from
McGill
University
(1979), and the Ordre de Mérite Agronomique de l'Ordre des Agronomes du Québec
(1977).
From July 2003 to November 2004 was Chair of the External
Committee on Smart Regulation.
He was also requested
by the Federal Government to create in April 2004 CAPI , the Canadian Agri-food
Policy Institute. He is presently Chairman of the Board of this Institution.
This Institute is dedicated to identifying future issues and opportunities
affecting the future of the Canadian Agri-food economy.
Murray Mucha
Murray Mucha is Manager, Investments for CIC Asset Management Inc. (division of Crown Investments Corporation). He has worked in the investment sector since 1972, most of that time in Saskatchewan with Saskatchewan Economic Development Corporation, Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation, Investment Saskatchewan, and Crown Investments Corporation.
Murray was born in Melville Sask. and obtained a Diploma in Business Administration from SIAST, Pallister Campus.During his career he has gained experience in venture capital, equity investment and commercial lending in a number of sectors including agriculture. Murray has and continues to serve on the boards and investment advisory committees of investee companies and various investment funds.
